Design of pouring system for wind power castings

The wall thickness of the wind power castings is 50~200mm, and the rigid resin sand is used. The safety risers are mostly used to supplement the appropriate amount of cold iron technology. The casting system of wind power castings should strive for the smooth filling of the molten steel and the prevention of specific turbulence in order to reduce the defects of slag and stomata. The pouring system is designed to be a very large open type of cast-in-place, cast-in-place and inner runner. The bottom note inside the runner, the ingate is flat, and the casting joint should have R angle, avoid cracks. Special items should be tall with two straight runner, ladder runner, ensure rapid filling. The spheroidal graphite cast iron has a large tendency to oxidize. The slag produced during pouring can block the entry cavity by placing a filter or filter. The filtration technology also plays the role of refining and round the graphite. The effect of 10ppi foam ceramic filter or 200csi straight hole filter is better.
The application of solidification simulation software to verify the feasibility of the process can reduce the quality risk of new products or improved processes. The simulation of filling, solidification and stress field can show the reliability of the process intuitively. We should accumulate 3 aspects of process design, simulation and process application, and gain more experience, so that we can effectively predict and improve the simulation results.
